This may be the first time that you’ve needed to book a professional saxophonist for your special event, so here’s my answers to the most frequently asked questions…
What are your booking terms & conditions?
I require a 25% booking fee to confirm a booking, the remaining balance is then due no later than 14 days prior to your event date. Payment methods and terms can be found at the bottom of your booking confirmation which will be created and emailed to you should you decide to proceed. I use amplified sound equipment for every performance and require safe access to a standard 13 amp plug socket. It is down to you (the client) to ensure that your chosen venue has the correct music licence if required.
Do you provide all of your own equipment?
Absolutely, all I ask for is safe, nearby access to a standard UK 13amp, 240V plug socket at your chosen venue. I bring a compact yet powerful PA system to every event along with a wireless mic system giving me much more freedom when performing.
Can I request a track that isn’t on your current playlist?
I’m more than happy to learn a specific track for your event, so long as it works well on sax and I can source the appropriate backing track.
Can I choose which tracks you play?
You’re welcome to highlight a handful of tracks from my playlist that you’d especially like me to include in my set, however I don’t ask clients to write my entire set list in advance as a lot of my skill and experience is knowing which tracks to play depending on my audience.
How long do you require to set up for a solo saxophone performance?
Depending on parking/venue access, I can be set up and ready to play within approx. 30 minutes of arrival.
How long do you require to setup for your Sax & DJ Package?
Unless you have already requested and booked an early disco setup, your DJ will arrive & setup approximately 90 minutes before the disco is due to start. Can I kindly request that safe, nearby access is provided for him to unload. The disco setup requires a minimum of two dedicated 13 amp plug sockets, located no further than 5 metres away. Please also ensure that there is a clear walkway into the room to avoid any unnecessary disruption.
Do you play outside?
Yes, so long as it’s warm enough. Like most instruments, the saxophone really doesn’t like being exposed to cold temperatures. I also require safe access to power (please check with your venue if you’re unsure). I will not risk exposing my equipment to rain or high winds so please make sure you have a “Plan B” in place in the unfortunate event of bad weather.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and is your equipment PAT tested?
I certainly do. I have public liability insurance to the value of £5 million and all of my electrical equipment is PAT tested on a yearly basis. Copies of both certificates can be provided ahead of any event should your venue require them.
